Lou's Banana Bug

The Banana is Lou's first beetle. It was bought by a lady from the VW garage in Newton Abbot and has stayed local ever since. Although Lou has only had the Bug since June 2005, it has been with the club for a few years, previously owned by Vince and Nic.

The Banana has travelled many miles to many shows with relatively few problems. In 2005 it has been to Run to the Sun, BVF, Bug Jam, Veedubbin @ the Beach, Cornwall Jamboree, Vanfest and a 1,000 mile round trip to Le Bug Show, Spa.

Just before Christmas 2005, Lou returned from watching a football match at Home Park (Plymouth 2 - Crystal Palace 0!) to find that some one had parked on the Bug's bonnet. (Much to Nic's dismay as he had bought Lou new front wings for Christmas). Luckily the person responsible had owned up and the Bug was taken back to the same garage it was bought from and repaired. The Banana Bug is now sporting a lovely pair of new front wings (thanks Nic), a new bonnet and bumper, and shiny paint job.
